I have a idea for an event. Can I become an event host?

Yes, you sure can! biggrin

Adventure Wellington survives and thrives because of the awesome people who give up their time to host events.

Event Hosts are just group members like you and I. So what's involved?

You can choose what sort of event they want to run - as long as it 'gets-your-body-moving'
You set the maximum number of attendees and any requirements for an event
You welcome everyone at the start of an event and generally make sure that everything runs ok
You keep track of attendance at an event and update the RSVP's to indicate any no-shows

Hosting is pretty simple really. It's just like attending any event, but the host will oversee it to make sure that it all runs to plan. The most important parts of hosting are the start and finish of an event - just generally making sure that everyone knows what's going on.

So if you have an idea for a meetup, why not offer to host it yourself?

To host an event just click on my name in the left hand margin, choose 'email', and let me know what you'd like to do. I can help you plan or polish it, as much as you need.
