About 6 months ago, I got reintroduced to badminton, after only playing a few times as a kid. Found I really enjoy the game and now I find my self trying to insert the topic of badminton into most conversations I have. So anyhow I recently moved here and haven't met any badminton players yet, but I live near the Hataitai badminton hall and keen to have a match anytime. I haven't been over to the hall yet, so not sure what the details are all I've heard is it's expensive. Seem like club nights don't start up till March, so I'd be keen to meetup with anyone who might be a member already and get some tips and check out the place, or if you wouldn't mind checking out the club with me and having a game, I'll be happy to pay for the court fees :)

Hey there John, I would be happy to put an Intro to Badminton up to see if there are some AWers who might like to try it out. Also, you may contact AW member Geoff Palmer via the site -- I'm pretty sure he's a regular player.

Not exactly regular, (or very good!), but I've played at Hataitai a few times with friends. I'm sure we could sort something out.

Yes - very keen on a badminton meetup for rusty but enthusiastic players! Also happy to contribute to court fees if required for this kind of meetup. Haven't played since Varsity but still fit to thwack a shuttle or four!! Great suggestions guys...

I'd be keen for a foursome, used to play a lot years ago, fitness not what it was now but its the sort of game you can cheat fitness a little. Ha, famous last words.

Great, well I have another meetup tonight, and going rock climbing on Thurs. Anyone free Wed say around 6pm?

I have much more enthusiasm for the game than actual skill, so don't worry if your a bit rusty :)

I have a spare racket. Great I'll meet you there at 6pm :) Wanted to try to get over there today, but couldn't make it. Tomorrow we can find out some more details about if they hire out rackets, and maybe we can organize a larger meetup.
