It's time for a rematch at Indoor Grand Prix... last time was so much fun we're doing it again!
Come along for 30 blood-pumping, tire-smoking laps each as teams try to win the Adventure Wellington crown! Also up for grabs is best lap time.
Racing starts with a grid start of up to 7 drivers, one from each team. Each team member drives 10 laps then gets signaled by one of their team members, the driver then enters the pits, where the next team member awaits, that driver then gets out and the new driver takes over and completes their ten laps.
Never tried karting before? No problem!
Costs: The discounted Adventure Wellington price is $30 for approximately 2 hrs of adrenalin-pumping fun!
What to bring:
- BYO drinks for afterwards (there is no bar open at the premises when we finish)
- Gloves. The steering wheels are metal, so gloves might help.
How to get to Indoor Grand Prix?
1) By train: Indoor Grand Prix is 100 m from Kaiwharawhara Railway station (eg KPL train at 6.44pm (3 min.)
2) By bus: several buses leave from Wellington Bus Station (stop D: bus 54 at 6.45pm, bus 52 at 6.47 etc; 4 min)
3) By car: follow Hutt Road until you reach Animates
Arghhh! You are right Heather, I'll be sailing that night. Too many things going on :-) Thanks for the reminder!
Anybody driving out to the venue? If so, can I grab a lift please from maybe the railway station steps? Cheers!
OMG a go-kart was destroyed Eugene!? One of the sailing instructors was knocked out last night in the 40 knot gusts (nailed by a boom) so sounds like a destructive night all round
OMG - what a night for AW! Yep, Jay's kamikaze skills saw the front steel bumper come loose, which meant she had probs making the last few laps - wow, sailing sounded rough last night!
Awesome night, great racing. FYI Eugene, that was celebrating taking the chequered flag, prior to the points announcement. Now, who was it (cough, cough, Jennifer, cough) who got penalised for aggressive driving again? ;)
@Jason Me, aggressive driving? Never :) You're thinking of Karl ...
@Jennifer. I didn't see Karl, he was behind me again most of the time ;)
Any one registered for the sailing course you will be sailing this night.
