Midnight Monkey Madness!

So you've all (or maybe most) done the Adrenalin Forest, swinging on the ropes, battling your fear of heights, feeling the trees move with the breeze as you attempt to balance and cross a ridiculous length of rope!

Well all of that will seem like a walk in the park once you've tried the Adrenalin Forest at night (maybe not quite midnight though)!

Usually these guys allow the last group of adventurous people to start at 2:30pm! Ha!

We laugh in the face of these weakling's as 45 of us dare to combat the forest at night with nothing but the moon and a head torch to guide us.

Come on this amazing experience and be amongst the few people who have taken this challenge at night. A test against gravity, balance and agility by the light of the moon.

What is required? Monkey like climbing ability, a good head torch and maybe some bike gloves or similar.

Difficultly level: 3/5

Cost: $45 (EFTPOS available).

Thanks Claire for hosting this meetup!

Oh heck yes! Is there somewhere I can borrow a head torch or get it really cheap? Also, anyone I could get a ride with from central Welly?

Hey Geoff - time for a rematch - or we could play on the same team again. Roy, are you in? We made good adrenalin buddies last time.

Does anyone know how I could get out there without a car? From memory, it's a bit of distance from public transport?

I've haven't been to Adrenaline Forest during daylight hours - would it be foolish for my first time to be at night? :-)

@ Dan. Nah! I've not been in the day either ... it'll be quality entertainment. However, Linc has organised a day one for next week if you want to come to both but try during the day first.

Thanks Claire - I saw that one but it sounded a bit too energetic what with all the running around and race for the flag stuff. Are you doing both or just the night one?

I'm working on the day of the first one in Jan. But I would've gone to both if I was able to. It's meant to be great fun!

Lots of fun. Definitely do it again! Day time and night time!

Really enjoyed the difference in doing this at night. Shooting down the long flying foxes when the wires disappeared in to darkness was great! Thanks for setting this one up.
  • Jess
Had a fantastic time! Didn't find it harder at night, except in trying to see if the person ahead of me was off the next stage of the course. Definitely need to do this at least one more time, and work backwards from 6 rather than work up to 6!

Level 5 was a real challenge after a hard couple of weeks, but I am stoked that I made it (in yer face, Bridge of Fury!!) Promised myself a cold beer to get through the challenging bits and really enjoyed it afterwards knowing that I'd earned it! Gotta psyche myself up to do level 6 now! Much thanks to Claire for organising this, (the manager?) said that it was only the second time they'd done a night session in Wellington, so big ups for getting us the VIP treatment :)
